In Serbia, support for EU integration remains unchanged from last year at 65 percent, a news conference heard in Belgrade on Friday. That is the percentage of those who answered affirmatively to the hypothetical referendum question: "Do you support Serbia joining the EU", a new survey has shown. Support for EU in Serbia unchanged "The level of support for EU integration is constant, but emotional identification and optimism are waning," said head of the Serbian government's EU integration office Milica Delevic presenting the poll results, and added that the number of people who would vote against EU membership was up by one percent. Delevic stressed that among the younger generation, there is a better-than-average view of the EU and the referendum question would pass by a much wider margin. They are also more optimistic about the benefits of EU membership, both for themselves and for the country as a whole. "Both the current and all future governments have a responsibility to these young people and their views," Delevic pointed out.
