Public Prosecution Spokesman Tomo Zoric stated that the prosecution had requested a recording of an RTS talk show broadcast earlier this week. This came after reports that opposition New Serbia (NS) leader and MP Velimir Ilic had threatened the physical safety of fellow MP and ruling Democratic Party (DS) official Jelena Trivan. Prosecution to probe threats against DS MP Ilic, Trivan, and Vlajko Senic of G17 Plus all took part in the program. Zoric said that “witnesses who had been present during and after the show would be questioned in order to determine a complete factual situation”. “At this point I really can’t say anything more. If it’s determined that there were traits of any criminal acts there the prosecution will surely react in accordance with the law,” he pointed out. Trivan stated yesterday that she expected the prosecution’s reaction regarding Ilic’s behavior during the program. RTS stated that the NS leader had jeopardized the safety of Trivan and other participants in the program. The state broadcaster previously announced that Ilic had violated the standards of public appearance by endangering the physical safety of Trivan and Senic. The NS leader stated that he did not insult the DS MP, and that she was treating him "unfairly". He also pointed out that "the goal of the entire story" was to divert attention from one million signatures collected by the opposition, and submitted to the government, calling for early parliamentary elections. DS-led parliamentary group chief Nada Kolundzija stated that Ilic addressed Trivan in a manner that was unambiguously hate speech, and a call to lynch.
