The European Liberal Democratic and Reform Party (ELDR) adopted a resolution by Serbia's Liberal Democratic Party (LDP) at its congress in Barcelona on Friday. The resolution “states for the first time that the extradition of Ratko Mladic and Goran Hadzic is a condition for Serbia's EU accession, not just for the unblocking of the interim trade agreement," LDP stated. European Liberals adopt LDP resolution LDP stated that the resolution was adopted also by the Dutch D66 party, which is the first time a political party from that country has backed LDP’s request to allow the Stabilization and Association Agreement between Serbia and the EU to be implemented now, so that Serbia could apply for EU membership while the search for the remaining Hague fugitives continues. According to the Serbian party, the adoption of the resolution could strengthen the pro-European forces in Serbia and increase the efficiency of cooperation with the Hague Tribunal, which remains Serbia's main condition for EU membership.
