Serbia’s foreign trade deficit in the first three months of 2007 has reached US$ 2bn.

Foreign trade deficit US$ 2bn

In euros, the deficit grew 29.1 percent to EUR 1.53bn.

Serbia exported goods worth US$ 1.8bn from January to March, 46.8 percent more than during the same period in 2006, while imports increased by 43.6 percent, totaling US$ 3.8bn.

Exports covered imports with 47.7 percent, a value higher than that recorded last year, when it stood at 46.6 percent. Serbia’s overall foreign trade exchange in the first trimester reached US$ 5.6bn, 44.6 percent more than in the same period 2006.

In euros, foreign trade grew by 32.6 percent as was worth EUR 4.3bn.
