"Continued support to defense of Serbs detained in Kosovo"
Marko Đurić stated on Wednesday that Serbia will continue supporting defense of Oliver Ivanović and other detained Serbs in similar cases.

Ivanović is held in Kosovska Mitrovica on war crimes charges.Đurić said that Ivanović is "a strong personality and has the determination and perseverance to bravely deal with the very difficult situation he has unfortunately come to face."
”We consider it very important for people in entire Kosovo and Metohija to know that they can count on strong support of the Republic of Serbia,” Đurić told a news conference.
Ivanović was detained on January 27 on suspicion that he participated in the crimes committed against Albanians in 1999 and 2000 but the indictment against him has not been raised to this day.
Đurić announced that he will continue with his visits to detained and arrested Serbs in the entire territory of Kosovo and Metohija next week.
“Since the elections are over, we intend to use the influence we are trying to build through provincial institutions in order to solve the problems of our people,” Đurić said.
“We adjust the methods of our political fight to the given circumstances and those who are against our interests,” Đurić said.
He did not wish to comment on the potential date when the Serbian government would define the stand on participation of Kosovo and Metohija Serbs in the Kosovo parliament, and added that the procedures connected to the June 8 elections have not been completed yet.
“Representatives of Serbs in Kosovo and Metohija will adopt decisions after mutual consultations and in the dialogue with Belgrade and all other relevant figures,” Đurić noted.
