BELGRADE Police have arrested ex-Agrobanka Board of Directors member Branislav Pesic, ex-Cacak branch Director Velibor Lukic and Mediteran 92 owner Milenko Surudzic. The suspects were arrested on Friday morning, Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) has reported. New arrests made in Agrobanka case They are suspected of abuse of office and incurring damages worth around EUR 16mn to the bank. The arrests were made as a part of an expanded investigation in the Agrobanka case. 25 people, including former Agrobanka Board of Directors President Dusan Antonic, are suspected of abuses of loans. Antonic and another nine suspects were arrested in early August. Antonic was arrested only a day after he gave an exclusive interview to B92 TV, when he spoke about Agrobanka's debt worth EUR 300mn and admitted on the air that he had received a EUR 600,000 bonus from the bank. Habitfarm owner Radoslav Sekulic and his son were arrested for their involvement in the Agrobanka case on August 25, along with another seven suspects. The police and prosecution suspect that numerous loans were illegally granted by the bank in 2006 and that more than EUR 200mn has never been repaid to Agrobanka. (file) B92 RTS
