NOVI SAD The Serbian police announced on Friday that some 27,000 people visited Novi Sad's Petrovaradin Fortress for the first night of the EXIT music festival. 11 persons were arrested, 10 of them foreigners, on charges of illegal drug possession. 11 drug-related arrests during first night of EXIT There were no reports of "mass violations of public peace and order", said the MUP. The statemented added that a "young man from Shanghai" was seriously injured when he was stabbed with a knife, and that the accident happened within the perimeter of the fortress, but outside the festival grounds. In the town, two foreign nationals were robbed of cash and credit cards. The police are working intensively to solve these cases, said the statement, and added that they also appealed on everyone "to confirm EXIT's reputation of a safe event with their own behavior".
