The Serbian government has extended the deadline for submitting bids for the Smederevo steel mill's strategic partner by three months, that is by September 10.

The Serbian government has extended the deadline for submitting bids for the Smederevo steel mill's strategic partner by three months, that is by September 10. This is the second time that the government is extending the deadline, as the current one will expire on June 11. Govt. extends deadline for Smederevo steel mill So far, the applications have been submitted by United Pilsen S.A. from Luxembourg, Donetsksteel Group from Ukraine and Ural Mining and Metallurgical Company from Russia. The steel mill has been state-owned since the end of January 2012, after it has been purchased for one U.S. dollar from the U.S. Steel that pulled out from Serbia due to losses.
