The Serbian dinar (RSD) continues to recover for the sixth day in a row, said the central bank. On Wednesday, the Serbian currency gained 0.11 percent against the euro (EUR), thus setting the official middle exchange rate at RSD 105.00, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) stated. Serbian currency strengthens On Monday, the NBS bought EUR 10mn in the inter-bank hard currency market to prevent excessive daily strengthening of the dinar. This was the first time since 2008 that the NBS bought foreign currency in this market. Since the beginning of the year, the central bank sold EUR 1.755bn to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate and encourage exchange on the foreign exchange market.

Serbian currency strengthens

On Monday, the NBS bought EUR 10mn in the inter-bank hard currency market to prevent excessive daily strengthening of the dinar.

This was the first time since 2008 that the NBS bought foreign currency in this market.

Since the beginning of the year, the central bank sold EUR 1.755bn to ease excessive daily volatility of the exchange rate and encourage exchange on the foreign exchange market.
