The shutting down of Fiat's factories in Italy “has nothing to do with the factory in the Serbian town of Kragujevac”. This is according to a statement from spokesman for the Italian car manufacturer Richard Gadezelli, whos spoke for the BBC on Tuesday. Closing of Fiat factories “doesn't affect Serbia” There is no connection between the factories in Italy and the one in Serbia, or in any other part of the world, he said, but also added that he cannot predict what will happen to the production in Kragujevac in the future. According to the BBC, he noted as important the fact that Fiat's production capacity in Kragujevac is currently small and only produces cars for the Serbian market, whereas the Italian factories produce cars for all of Europe. BBC reminded that Fiat decided to close down all six of its factories in Italy and send some 30,000 workers on forced leave. The decision was motivated by the estimate that sales will drop by 350,000 vehicles this year compared to last year.
