Zastava Arms union leader Dragan Ilic has confirmed for B92 that an export deal with Libya worth USD 37mn has fallen through. The Libyan buyer decided to terminate the contract after the Kragujevac-based Serbian weapons manufacturer failed to honor its provisions, as the state refused to issue the necessary export licenses, Ilic said. Libyans pull out of Zastava Arms contract The factory's union invited PM Mirko Cvetkovic, one of his ministers with jurisdiction in this industry and nine MPs to discuss the problems the company is facing. However, only ruling DS MP Milan Vuckovic showed up for the meeting this Saturday. For this reason, Zastava Arms workers are set to travel to Belgrade on March 25, where they will stage a protest in front of the government headquarters.
