Serbia has had USD 720mn surplus in trade with the CEFTA members in the first five months of 2008. The Statistical Office said in a statement today that this came mainly as the result of agricultural exports. Steady trade surplus with CEFTA countries From January to June 2008, export to the countries gathered in this regional free trade organization reached USD 1.48bn, while import amounted to USD 755.8mn. The CEFTA region is one of the rare markets where Serbia, plagued with a huge trade deficit, has had a continuous trade surplus. CEFTA is ranked the second most significant market for Serbia, taking up 32.2 percent of the country's overall export.
