Surcin municipal officials have signed a deal to build a golf course in the Belgrade suburb. A consortium of investors has paid EUR 26mn for a 99-year lease agreement for 300 hectares of land. Golf course to be built in Belgrade The El Golf consortium is made up of investors from the U.S., Austria and Israel, and will build infrastructure, a heliport and roads in the first four years, and in six years will build a large 18-hole golf course, clubhouse, ambulance and nursery, as well as other sports facilities. “And so, the moment has come that the El Golf company has won the competition and signed an agreement for investing in 300 hectares of land in the village of Becmen, in a development project that should create 1000 new jobs, and which is worth some EUR 100mn,” said Vojislav Janosevic, president of the Surcin municipal assembly. El Golf officials stated that the multi-purpose complex was also being planned as an “oasis and a city within a city.”
