The Austrian interior minister was speaking during a tour of the border crossing Spielfeld with Slovenia through which thousands of refugees arrive in Austria every day.

According to her, it will be necessary to establish the so-called "hot spots" for registration on EU's external borders, as well as to make arrangements and agree on distribution of refugees.

Without better protection of EU's external borders, is not possible in the medium term to put the situation under control, the minister pointed out.

Because of the growing wave of refugees coming via Slovenia, the Austrian has increased the number of its members by another 100 troops. 600 soldiers are now tasked with helping the police in monitoring and guarding state borders.
