Croatia: Serbians arrested for smuggling Turks from Bosnia

The Croatian police have detained two Serbian citizens on suspicion that they organized illegal transfers of Turkish citizens from Bosnia to Croatia.

Four more men are accused in the case, that charges the suspects with illegal entry, movement, and stay in Croatia.

The five Turks who illegally entered Croatia on Friday have been expelled and will be turned over to the police of Bosnia-Herzegovina on Monday.

The Turks and the Serbian citizens accused of smuggling them were traveling in a Swedish license plates van when the police from Donji Srb stopped for border control on a road in Licki Osredci.

They were all subsequently taken to the premises of the police in Zadar.
