BELGRADE Serbian MPs will debate food safety on Thursday, March 14, the Serbian parliament has announced. The MPs will at a session, which will begin at 16:00 CET, ask questions to cabinet members about food safety, citizens’ health, food safety standards and their implementation. Parliament to hold session on food safety on March 14 The session was called at the request of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP). The LDP filed the request on February 26 after analyses had shown increased amounts of aflatoxin in dairy products. Parliament Speaker Nebojsa Stefanovic said that competent ministers would answer the MPs’ questions. He told Radio Television of Serbia (RTS) that the goal of the session was to determine what was going on with milk and food safety, whether citizens’ health had been endangered or if Serbia was a victim of media manipulations and attempts to destabilize the state. The session was called at the request of the Liberal Democratic Party (LDP).
