They discussed implementing a project aimed at supplying Serbia with gas as well as the development of Serbia's gas market, a statement said.

According to this, it was noted during the meeting that "the consumption of gas in Serbia in the first ten months increased by 28 percent compared to the same period last year, which is evidence of accelerated economic progress in the country."

This imposes the need for Serbia to work on further developing the gas transport system, which will enable security of gas supply, and meeting the growing needs of the Serbian market, the statement said.

Miller "expressed readiness for Gazprom to participate in the development of new gas transportation systems with the Serbian side" - considering that the construction of a section of the gas pipeline between Russia and Turkey would create an opportunity for additional gas supplies for the countries of the region, including Serbia.

Miller also "conveyed President Putin's greetings to Vucic ahead of his visit to Russia," the statement said, adding that Vucic "thanked for the greetings, and asked his interlocutor to convey to President Putin his gratitude for the support given to Serbia."
