Milenković takes witness stand
“Back in 2002 Spasojević labeled Stanišić as dangerous and linked him to Željko Maksimović, protected by the Montenegrin State Security”, Milenković said.Dejan Milenković, collaborating witness in the Đinđić assassination trial, appeared before the Belgrade District Court Special Department to testify that Zemun Clan “drew its power from Milorad Ulemek’s and Milorad Bracanović’s support”.
“Ulemek informed Zemun Clan leader Dušan Sasojević about the police’s next moves”, Milenković said, adding that Bracanović disclosed information via Ulemek about the tapped phone lines.
The witness told the court that Zemun Clan, initially involved in small-time criminal activities, gradually advanced to murders and kidnappings when Milorad Ulemek joined the gang.
“Ulemek organized the kidnappings, while Spasojević promised to cut down on the drug smuggling, but lied.”
Milenković went on to relay how they attempted to murder Andrija Drašković twice, adding that the Clan planned to kidnap Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) football team director Dragan Džajić, Filip Zepter, Karić family members, Predrag Ranković a.k.a. Peconi and Miodrag Kostić.
