Holy Fire brought to Serbian holy places in Kosovo

A large number of believers participated in the ceremony, while Deputy Kosovo Prime Minister Branimir Jovanovic, an SNS official, attended the ensuing liturgical service.

The Beta agency is reporting on Monday that this is the second time that the Holy Fire is welcomed "in Serbia, and so in Kosovo."

"If crucifixion and resurrection can be felt and experienced anywhere in Serbia today, it is in Kosovo and Metohija," SPC Bishop Teodosije of Raska-Prizren said during the ceremony, and added:

"Suffering gives birth to resurrection. The destruction of our holy places leads to their rebuilding, because when we suffer, we are renewed. We suffer in this life, but we renew ourselves and resurrect in the eternal one."

The believers gathered today in Gracanica had a chance to light their candles using the flame of the Holy Fire. The relic will also be taken to the Patriarchate of Pec, and the monasteries of High Decani and Banjska.
