Serbian minister told to "get medical treatment"

The Serbian minister previously said that his country "wants to have best possible neighborly relations with Croatia, and wishes Croatian Prime Minister Zoran Milanovic all the best," inviting him at the same time "to overcome his vanity, come to Belgrade, and say here what he thinks about Serbs and Serbia."

This was in reaction to Milanovic's statement last week that Serbian officials' claim that the Hague's decision to order Seselj back in prison was directed against the government and the prime minister was "incomprehensible."

Reacting to Matic's statement, Vulin said:

"I wished prosperity and success to Croatia, while Minister of Defenders Predrag Maric wishes medical treatment to me. Perhaps there is cure for me, but Minister of Defenders Matic will never be cured from Ustashism."

Vulin was referring to the Ustasha regime of the WW2-era fascist entity known as the Independent State of Croatia (NDH).

Also on Wednesday, Vojislav Seselj burned a Croatian flag in front of the Justice Palace in Belgrade, prompting Zagreb to file a protest note and withdraw its ambassador for consultations.

Reacting to this, Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic said that Belgrade would not reciprocate and would "stop with any kind of rhetoric" that stirs up conflict.
