BELGRADE A GDP growth of at least two percent is expected in Serbia next year, Minister of Finance and Economy Mladjan Dinkic said on Monday. He added that that the recession trend should end by the end of 2012. "GDP to grow at least two percent in 2013" Dinkic told reporters that the National Bank of Serbia had forecast a growth of three percent for 2013, but that the government was more conservative in its estimate and was sticking with two percent. The growth will be based on investments and export, and Serbia's trump card will be Fiat cars made in Kragujevac, as demand for them is high, said Dinkic. Noting that production should start up again at the Smederevo steel mill, and export and industrial production are expected to rise, while the balance of payments deficit should go down, Dinkic said all these elements would drive the GDP up. He recalled that the country's GDP in 2011 would total one percent, as a consequence of the recession in the first half of the year. Tanjug
