A cluster bomb clearing operation will start in the southern Serbian municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac in March, it has been announced. The bombs were dropped in the area by NATO's warplanes, as the alliance attacked the country in the spring of 1999. NATO's cluster bombs to be removed Now the Norwegian People's Aid says the remaining cluster bombs will be removed from an area larger than two million square meters. The NGO's Slavko Gosaric said the project will be funded by the Norwegian government, and will cost a total of EUR 3.5mn. The bombs will also be removed from the municipality of Kursumlija, it has been announced, with the operation expected to be complete in a year and a half.

Now the Norwegian People's Aid says the remaining cluster bombs will be removed from an area larger than two million square meters.

The bombs will also be removed from the municipality of Kuršumlija, it has been announced, with the operation expected to be complete in a year and a half.
