Outgoing Kosovo Albanian Interior Minister Bajram Redzepi says that northern Kosovo will not be on the agenda of the Belgrade-Pristina talks. He told local newspapers that "the problem of the north cannot be solved in one year and that it requires a long-term approach". "Northern Kosovo will not be subject of talks" "I will insist that the north not be a subject of talks. It is Kosovo's internal affair and cannot be solved with Serbia," Redzepi believes. The north of the province is predominantly populated by Serbs, who recognize neither the authority of the Kosovo Albanian government in Pristina, nor the unilateral declaration of indepednence made nearly three years ago.
