The president of the National Council for Cooperation with the ICTY met the OSCE secretary general today. Rasim Ljajic and Marc Perrin de Brichambaut discussed Belgrade’s efforts at bringing cooperation with the International Tribunal for the Former Yugoslavia (ICTY) in The Hague to a close. Ljajic, OSCE discuss Hague cooperation According to a statement released after the meeting, Ljajic stressed that a speedy transfer of ICTY indictees to The Hague was in Serbia's best interests. "It would say a lot about our determination to meet all our commitments and start the process of reconciliation among the peoples and states in the region, " said Ljajic during his meeting with the OSCE delegation. De Brichambaut expressed the hope that Serbia would continue its activities in completing its cooperation with the Hague. Jeremic: OSCE must help Kosovo Serbs Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic on Thursday discussed with OSCE Secretary General de Brichambaut promotion of cooperation between Serbia and the OSCE and the role of international organizations in Kosovo. They focused on the need to further promote the human rights of the Kosovo Serbs, as well as enabling internally displaced persons to return to their homes, the Foreign Ministry said in a statement. Jeremic reiterated that the government advocated a continuation of direct talks between Belgrade and Pristina that would lead to a compromise solution. The minister also underlined the importance of respect for the Helsinki Charter, which includes principles on the inviolability of the borders of sovereign states.

Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremić on Thursday discussed with OSCE Secretary General de Brichambaut promotion of cooperation between Serbia and the OSCE and the role of international organizations in Kosovo.
