The school year has begun in Kosovska Kamenica despite a lack of basic school supplies. Kosovska Kamenica Municipal President Boban Jevtic said that the situation had been the same for the last two years in the municipality, adding that the schools had not received a single dinar from the Serbian government for school supplies and equipment. Kosovo schools lacking basic supplies “I spoke today with the headmasters of all the schools about tackling this extremely alarming situation which will have a knock-on effect on classes too,’ Jevtic said. “We have all sent letters to the competent ministries in order to overcome the problem, at least with a one-off financial donation,” he added. The municipal president stressed that there was a fear of an epidemic as well because of the pitiful state of school buildings, which were in poor condition, had not been painted, and whose amenities had not been maintained, adding that the schools were generally falling apart. There are five primary and four secondary schools in the municipality where classes are taught in Serbian language.
