Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic was welcomed by some 10,000 people in northern Kosovska Mitrovica; watch the video. "This place is really deep, deep within my heart, I will keep returning here always, whenever I can, and I will provide support to the people that need it the most," the young tennis player said Thursday, addressing the thrilled crowd, news agencies report. 10,000 Kosovo Serbs welcome Djokovic Djokovic, who organizers said yesterday decided to visit in order to show his support for the Serbs in the province, thanked everyone for coming to the town square in Kosovska Mitrovica to welcome him, stressing that he "did not expectd to see so many people". "We have once again shown how many of us there are, and that we are fighting. All of my victories are your victories too. You must know that both me and my family will always be with you. I love you", Djokovic said, to the cheers from the crowd. Serb National Council of Northern Kosovo President Milan Ivanovic thanked the world number three for the visit. Djokovic, this year's Australian Open champion, accompanied by his family members, then headed for Zvecan, escorted by a strong Kosovo police, KPS, presence.
