BELGRADE Nebojsa Stefanovic has said that SNS party leader and Deputy PM Aleksandar Vucic "is the best option for the position of prime minister." According to Stefanovic - who is Serbian parliament speaker and a high ranking official of the Serb Progressive Party (SNS) - this is the case because Vucic "has the greatest strength and authority for that office." Vucic, "best solution for prime minister" Stefanovic added that he has already put the proposal forward before the party's main bodies. His comments came ahead of the announced reshuffle of the Serbian cabinet, led by PM Ivica Dacic. “The final decision will be made between Aleksandar Vucic and Ivica Dacic. They need to talk and see if it is possible to have this happen and when,” Stefanovic said for Vecernje Novosti, a Belgrade-based daily. "It would be good if some ministers who have not been doing a good job gave up their positions on their own during the government reshuffle," Stefanovic said, adding there will be no increase in the number of ministries and that a coalition between the SNS and the opposition Democratic Party (DS) is not an option. During a meeting of the SNS Presidency on Saturday, it will be decided who in the government is not producing good results, he said. The opinion will then be forwarded to the SNS main board, which should adopt all the proposed changes as early as next week. The decision about reform measures and the program for the reshuffled government will be made by Vucic, Dacic and Economy and Finance Minister Mladjan Dinkic, who is also leader of the United Regions of Serbia, a third partner in the coalition government that also includes the SNS, and Dacic's Socialists (SPS).
