He said that there had been pressures from the international community not to call the elections in Kosovo.

“Serbia absolutely does not want to talk about whether it should call the elections in Kosovo and Metohija. So far the elections have been held for 12-13 years and I don’t know why they would be disputable now,” Dačić explained.

Commenting on European Parliament (EP) Rapporteur for Serbia Jelko Kacin’s statement that it would be a problem if Serbia held the elections in Kosovo, the interior minister noted that this was not a question Kacin should answer.

“Our state is not going to ask anyone from the outside whether it should call the elections or not. Serbia is a state whose sovereignty should be respected and Kosovo is not a state because it is not recognized by the UN,” Dačić concluded.
