The Serbian government has stated that it is monitoring and controlling the situation in Kosovo and called on northern Kosovo Serbs to hold peaceful protests.

The Serbian government has stated that it is monitoring and controlling the situation in Kosovo and called on northern Kosovo Serbs to hold peaceful protests. The government also called on the citizens not to react to any provocations. Spokesman claims government "in control" Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlovic said that all institutions of the state of Serbia in northern Kosovo were working normally and that they were fully committed to preservation of peace and stability. “The government is monitoring and it is in full control of the situation in Kosovo. The situation is peaceful and according to our information, EULEX and KFOR members are at the Jarinje and Brnjak crossings, in accordance with the mandate given to them by the UN,” Mihajlovic stressed. “Kosovo policemen and customs officers have no role at the crossings,” he told a press conference after a government session. Serbian government’s Media Office Chief Milivoje Mihajlović said that all institutions of the state of Serbia in northern Kosovo were working normally and that they were fully committed to preservation of peace and stability.
