SRS denies it “was financed by Gaddafi”

The Serb Radical Party (SRS) has stated that former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi “has never financed party’s leader Vojislav Šešelj or the SRS”.

The Serb Radical Party (SRS) has stated that former Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi “has never financed party’s leader Vojislav Seselj or the SRS”. The party said in the statement that Seselj or the SRS had never had contact with Gaddafi and that they had never received any financial means from him. SRS denies it “was financed by Gaddafi” “Not a single dollar got to Seselj or the party budget,” the SRS stressed and added that media reports regarding the issue “are completely wrong”. “It should be investigated whether individuals such as (Serbian Progressive Party deputy leader) Aleksandar Vucic and (SNS leader) Tomislav Nikolic were obtaining financial means from Gaddafi for themselves by using Vojislav Seselj’s name. Therefore we demand from Serbian Foreign Minister Vuk Jeremic to order representatives of our embassy in Tripoli to find a copy of cables which, according to the media, contain the information about the funding, in order to be able to investigate the whole thing,” the SRS stressed in the release.
