Serbians this year again gathered in the streets of major towns to celebrate the start of the New Year. The beginning of 2010 was marked with open-air concerts and displays of fireworks in Belgrade and in other cities. Serbians welcome in New Year Interior Minister Ivica Dacic, who early this morning visited MUP policemen on duty in the capital, said that the night went without any major incidents. "Thousands celebrated in the streets all across Serbia, and so far police reports say that there were no injuries from firearms," said he. Dacic also noted that some 15,000 foreign nationals chose to welcome the New Year in Serbia. (Beta)

Interior Minister Ivica Dačić, who early this morning visited MUP policemen on duty in the capital, said that the night went without any major incidents.

"Thousands celebrated in the streets all across Serbia, and so far police reports say that there were no injuries from firearms," said he.

Dačić also noted that some 15,000 foreign nationals chose to welcome the New Year in Serbia.
