Belgrade Tuesday assumed chairmanship of the International Commission for the Protection of Danube River (ICPDR). The organization was set up to rallies countries of the Danube basin. Serbia chairs Danube Commission ICPDR is an international body made up of 13 countries and the European Union, and the chairmanship rotates every year between the signatories to the Convention for the Protection of the Danube River.
