Kosovo issue is the biggest problem in central and southeast Europe, Czech President Vaclav Klaus said Saturday.

He said the summit also discussed EU enlargement. The key to solving problems of the region is the EU membership prospect for further states, Klaus said.

"It is fair to concede that the participants do not share an identical position on it [Kosovo problem]," Klaus said.

Slovakia, too, has approached Kosovo independence with skepticism so far, but Slovak President Ivan Gasparovic said in Brno on Friday that Bratislava would fully respect the UN Security Council's decision.

Today's second plenary session of the Brno summit involved fewer presidents as four participants left Brno on Friday evening already.

The next meeting of the central and southeast European presidents will be held in Macedonia.
