The European Commission (EC) is optimistic about the continuation of the technical dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina, Tanjug has learned at the EU seat. “This is what we have been working hard on in the past weeks in consultations with both sides,” a European diplomat closely involved in the dialogue process told Tanjug. EC optimistic ahead of continuation of dialogue “We remain optimistic that the sides will approach the dialogue constructively, and find solutions to practical issues that burden the citizens,” he stressed. The technical Belgrade-Pristina dialogue, suspended in September after the escalation of violence in northern Kosovo, will continue in Brussels on Monday, November 21. The topics of talks, held under EC's auspices, will be electric energy, telecommunications and Kosovo's participation in regional conferences. “In addition, we expect that the issue of university degrees will be raised during the talks,” Tanjug's source stated. Commenting the fact that the dispute regarding the presence of Kosovo customs officers at Jarinje and Brnjak crossings has still not been resolved, and that barricades are still set up on roads, the diplomat responded that the EC's position was clear. “The barricades should be removed, and everyone should be enabled free passage. The current situation is unsustainable,” the source added.
