B92 Fund donates X-ray machine to veterinary institution The machines were bought with the money from the Mila Fund which was established by B92 when Mila the dog had all of her paws cut off last year. The fund’s initial aim was to raise money for Mila’s treatment but the money was used for other purposes after the city of Belgrade took over the care of the dog. Belgrade Veterinary Institution Director Bratislav Stankovic has said that the X-ray machine would meet the institution’s need for X-rays. He stressed that the Belgrade Veterinary Institution had no X-ray machine until now and that patients used to be sent to privately-owned veterinary clinics to have X-rays. “A certain amount of money is left that we have donated to an NGO for protection of animals and after consultations with the biggest donors, we have decided to help institutionalize a more efficient treatment of animals,” B92 Fund Director Veran Matic said. Mila’s rehabilitation has been finished with fitting of prosthetic limbs which had been designed and manufactured by the Rudo Institute. The dog was adopted in January. “Mila is completely healthy, she has a very good coordination of her extremities and she walks perfectly considering the level of her disability,” Stankovic explained. The total value of the donation is about EUR 10,000. The money was raised by individuals and Erste Bank. Mila Fund will therefore cease to exist but B92 Fund will continue to monitor situation in this area and will react when necessary. Bratislav Stankovic and Veran Matic
