The Serbian dinar will on Monday, January 10, strengthen against the euro by 11 paras, or by 0.1 percent. The official middle exchange rate after the holidays will be RSD 106.3839 per euro, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) said on Thursday. Currency to make slight recovery The central bank has not yet intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market in 2011, while in 2010, it sold a total of EUR 2.579bn and bought EUR 226.5mn to alleviate the excessive daily volatility of the national currency's exchange rate. Last year, the local currency was strongest on January 4, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 95.9679 per euro, and the lowest on November 4, when its value against euro stood at RSD 107.5216.

The central bank has not yet intervened in the interbank foreign exchange market in 2011, while in 2010, it sold a total of EUR 2.579bn and bought EUR 226.5mn to alleviate the excessive daily volatility of the national currency's exchange rate.

Last year, the local currency was strongest on January 4, when the official middle exchange rate was RSD 95.9679 per euro, and the lowest on November 4, when its value against euro stood at RSD 107.5216.
