Several dozens of Albanians are protesting over the return of representatives of 26 Serb families to a village near Istok in Kosovo and Metohija. The protest has been ongoing for three days, reports said. Ethnic Albanians protest over return of Serbs Last week, 26 displaced families spontaneously returned to the village of Zac, which they were forced to leave in 1999. The Albanians have been staging one-hour protests in this ethnically mixed village for the past three days, claiming that the returnees include those who had taken part in "murders and kidnapping of Albanians during the war in Kosovo". They claim that at least 40 Albanians had been killed or are missing from the village during the war. The returnees are staying in UNHCR tents, while the protests will continue.

Last week, 26 displaced families spontaneously returned to the village of Žač, which they were forced to leave in 1999.

The Albanians have been staging one-hour protests in this ethnically mixed village for the past three days, claiming that the returnees include those who had taken part in "murders and kidnapping of Albanians during the war in Kosovo".

They claim that at least 40 Albanians had been killed or are missing from the village during the war.

The returnees are staying in UNHCR tents, while the protests will continue.
