Parliament's Committee for Kosovo will hold a meeting in the north of the province on Tuesday, reports suggest. A number of MPs will travel to the town of Zvecan to attend a session of the Assembly of the Union of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo, which is expected to adopt a declaration confirming the sovereignty of Serbia in the entire territory of the state. Committee for Kosovo to meet in – Kosovo Following this session, the committee should hold a meeting there as well. Democratic Party-led "For a European Serbia" caucus whip Nada Kolundzija said in a statement for Tanjug on Monday that the Union of Serb Municipalities session will be attended by Minister for Kosovo Goran Bogdanovic, while the Committee for Kosovo members from the DS ticket will also be there. Opposition Democratic Party of Serbia (DSS), New Serbia (NS), Serb Progressive Party (SNS) have all confirmed that their MPs will travel to Kosovo tomorrow. But opposition Liberal-Democratic Party (LDP) MP Zoran Ostojic said his party colleagues in parliament "are not even considering taking part in yet another action deluding the citizens of Serbia and which is aimed at a continuation of the current wrong policy on Kosovo". Parliament's Committee for Kosovo previously supported the proposal of the Assembly of the Union of Serb Municipalities in Kosovo that this body should meet in Zvecan on Feb. 17, and that MPs should also attend as a show of support for the Kosovo Serbs, as Kosovo's Albanians celebrate the anniversary of the unilateral declaration of independence. Kostunica sends letter The DSS leader and Serbia's premier for two terms, Vojislav Kostunica, today sent a letter to the Kosovo Serbs and members of the Serbian parliament. "On Feb. 17, we must once again announce to the whole world that Kosovo was, is, and will remain Serbia, and that this truth is stronger than all the lies used to build the fake state of Kosovo," he stated. The anniversary on Tuesday is just the right motive to send out a clear message that no representative of Serbia's government will ever negotiate with the representatives of Albanian separatists who have illegally proclaimed an Albanian state on the Serbian soil, wrote Kostunica.
