The trial for war crimes allegedly committed against Muslim civilians in the municipality of Zvornik in 1992 continues today in Belgrade. Goran Savic and Sasa Cilerdzic are accused of inhumane treatment of civilian prisoners at the Ekonomija farm and Ciglana factory from May to July 1992 as volunteers in the Territorial Defense of Zvornik. Zvornik war crimes case continues According to the indictment, they assisted in the torture and killing of imprisoned civilians, and Savic stands accused of one murder. The suspects took prisoners out of the Ciglana factory and forced them to loot Muslim and Serb homes that were abandoned and bring back the spoils. At the Ekonomija farm, Savic and Cilerdzic allegedly beat and tortured the prisoners and stole their possessions. Members of the Zute Ose and Pivarski units, Dragan Slavkovic, Ivan Korac and Sinisa Filipovic were found guilty of the same charges in June and were sentenced to a total of 31 years in prison, while Dragutin Dragicevic was acquitted. The trail of Savic and Cilerdzic began on September 3. Both pleaded not guilty.
