Mufti Muamer Zukorlic will again be summoned by the Special Court to testify on June 2 at the trial of a group of 15 Wahhabis. The Wahhabis are, among other things, charged with planning Zukorlic’s murder in March of last year. Mufti receives new summons Zukorlic failed to respond to the last court summons after receiving information that his safety might be in danger during his journey to Belgrade. This was the third time he had failed to respond to court summons in the case. The court announced that the mufti’s testimony played a key role in the trial. In the meantime, the court also rejected a defense motion to release the defendants from custody. The only defendant this did not apply to was Fuad Hodzic, who said that he did not want to be released from the central prison because he had no money to travel to Belgrade, he felt safer in prison, and did not want to go to Novi Pazar to play the part of Mufti Zukorlic’s “target,” as he put it. The trial continues on June 2.
