“The team will be very well prepared for the talks in Vienna. We have considered this proposal and are preparing a wide-ranging and constructive answer”, Jeremić told B92.

The president’s advisor also said Belgrade “will not be able to compromise” over its fundamental objection to Ahtisaari’s plan, namely, a lack of clear and unequivocal mention of Serbia’s territorial integrity over Kosovo.

“In any case, that is the red line we cannot cross and there is no plan B that lies on the other side of that line”, Jeremić says, adding that Serbia’s territorial sovereignty is the key point of the negotiating platform that will not be abandoned. The UN special envoy Martti Ahtisaari has yesterday decided to postpone the start of Vienna talks for February 21.
