Macron emphasized that this war is also "their problem".

"France's number one priority is to contribute to peace in Ukraine and to try to create a global dynamic to put pressure on Russia," Macron said at the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation (APEC) leaders' summit.

Macron said that France wants very close cooperation with various countries such as China, India, the countries of the Middle East, Africa, Latin America, in order to create a growing consensus.

According to him, those countries should also say that the war in Ukraine is also their problem because it creates destabilization. "Help us send a message to Russia - stop the war, respect the international order, return to the (negotiating) table," Macron added.

The APEC summit began in Bangkok today in the light of the war in Ukraine and North Korea's launch of ballistic missiles. It is the first live meeting of APEC leaders since 2018.

Just before the summit began, Pyongyang launched another missile, believed to have landed in the sea inside Japan's exclusive economic zone, Japanese Prime Minister Fumio Kishida said.
