French police identify 3 suspects in Paris massacre

Mourad, an 18-year-old from the city Charleville, surrendered to the police during the night reportedly after hearing his name on the news and is currently in custody, while more than 3,000 police officers are still searching for the brothers.

As reported by the French media, the police identified the suspects "after finding an ID card in their an abandoned escape vehicle." During the night, the police raided several locations in France looking for evidence.

CNN is reporting that the brothers had links to a number of terrorist groups, and that there are indications they last summer returned to France, where they were born, after fighting in Syria.

One of them is also "known to American authorities," according to the report. BBC reported that Cherif Kouachi was sentenced in 2008 to three years in prison for belonging to a Paris-based group sending jihadist fighters to Iraq.

12 people were killed at the weekly's office on Monday "by gunmen shouting Islamist slogans," the British broadcaster said.
