Bozovic, who is in charge of coordinating internal control and international cooperation activities, pointed that since 2008, when the Law on Asylum came into force, to this day, the number of asylum-seekers has been on the upswing and is expected to reach around 4,000 by the end of 2013. Serbia is also facing the problem of illegal border crossing attempts, noted Bozovic. A working group will be formed to draft the national strategy on asylum-seekers, which would include amendments to the Law on Asylum, Božović announced.

According to a MUP release, Božović met with Chief Representative of UNHCR in Serbia Eduardo Arboleda on Tuesday, on the occasion of International Migrants Day, December 18.
