An Orthodox Serb church destroyed in the March 2004 violence in Kosovo has been consecrated in Prizren. The church, dedicated to St. George, is one of over 30 Serb monasteries and churches in the province destroyed by ethnic Albanians that year. Kosovo: Desecrated church reopens The ceremony was performed by the new administrator of the SPC Rasko-Prizren Eparch Bishop Atanasije, in the presence of some 150 worshippers that came from the town, as well as from Orahovac, Velika Hoca, and from other parts of Kosovo. Yesterday, another church attacked in 2004, that in Pristina dedicated to St. Nicholas, was also reopened. The reconstruction was organized by the Council of Europe, the European Commission, the Kosovo government, the Eparchy, and others.
