B92's Kursumlija correspondent Ljiljana Davidovic was questioned in the town's MUP station last night. The police acted on a complaint filed by the editor of the local television, TVK, Slavko Savic. Police question B92 correspondent The complaint against Danilovic said that the reporter "took part in the kidnapping of former reservist Rasid Gasic". She, however, claims that Gasic himself confirmed that his accusations, made earlier in a statement for TVK, were false. Gasic originally accused the local association of ex-army reservists that they had embezzled war wages. But he later told Davidovic that this came "because Savic promised him an apartment and material assistance". Danilovic says that Savic threatened that she "must send him the recording of Gasic's statement". The former Yugoslav Army (VJ) reservists in various towns of the southern regions have been engaged in protests for over a year, demanding to be paid overdue wages. Danilovic also explained that after Gasic retracted his accusations against the association, and admitted they were false, Savic reported that this reservist had been kidnapped. "They were very decent toward me," the reporter says of the police. "I told them what happened. I consider this to be a form of pressure against journalists who are reporting about the conflict between the local television and officials from Kursumlija."
