Peace in W. Balkans "one of Serbia's priorities"

Vucic thanked Asselborn "for his active support to Serbia's European integration and understanding shown in the negotiation process of Serbia with the EU."

They "agreed that Serbia and Luxembourg can improve economic cooperation, especially after the entry into force of the agreement on avoidance of double taxation."

Vucic said he hoped that "a favorable business environment, through successful economic reforms in Serbia, can attract more investments from Luxembourg."

Speaking about the situation in the region, Vucic "stressed that peace and stability in the Western Balkans are one of the priorities of foreign policy of the country," while Asselborn "supported this constructive policy of Serbia because of its crucial impact on regional cooperation."

Serbia will soon open Chapter 29 in its EU accession talks, which relates to the customs union, with four more chapters ready, he told a news conference after his meeting with Serbian FM Ivica Dacic, and noted that Serbia's EU path did not depend on Brexit.

Asselborn said Brexit was "a European issue, but also one that was related to the Western Balkans."
