U.S. congressmen ask Kerry to "support Serbia"

A group of U.S. congressmen has sent a letter to the U.S. secretary of state expressing "support for the continuation of Serbia's EU integration process."

U.S. congressmen ask Kerry to "support Serbia"

The congressmen commended in the letter the US commitment to the Western Balkans and highlighted the need to provide additional support to Serbia.

The letter was signed by Congressmen Ted Poe and Emanuel Cleaver II, co-chairmen of the Serbian caucus, Dana Rohrabacher and Gregory W. Meeks, chairperson and co-chairperson of the U.S. House Subcommittee on Europe which follows the developments in Serbia and the region, and Bob Goodlatte, chairperson of the House Judiciary Committee.

The congressmen met with Serbian Prime Minister Aleksandar Vucic during his recent visit to the United States, and Congresswoman Rohrabacher also conferred with him in Belgrade, Tanjug reported, saying that the letter came after these meetings.
