BELGRADE Representatives of Kosovo Serbs believe they should take part in the announced political talks between Belgrade and Pristina, Radio Free Europe has reported. They claim that they would that way prevent solutions that would cause them even bigger problems from being reached. Kosovo Serbs request to take part in dialogue Kosovo Assembly Deputy Speaker Petar Miletic told Radio Free Europe that there was still no concrete offer for their participation in the talks from Kosovo leaders since the talks had not been defined yet. He added, however, that Serbian representatives could significantly contribute to the upcoming dialogue. “We expect the dialogue to continue and to solve concrete issues of the people in the field. Not only the top political issues but those that concern ordinary people,” he said. Kosovo Assembly MP Rada Trajkovic says it is hard for Kosovo Serbs to take part in the talks with the platform offered by Kosovo leaders bearing in mind that they do not agree on many things. She added that it was therefore necessary to reach an agreement between Serbs and Albanians in Kosovo first. Trajkovic said that Serbs should take part in the dialogue in order to ensure their survival in Kosovo. “Serbs from Kosovo and Metohija should primarily take care of the interests of Serbs and solutions that will allow a functional and permanent survival in these parts,” she explained. She noted that a group of Serbs should be formed that would be able to discuss any issue with both Pristina and Belgrade. Tanjug
