Opposition SNS party leader Tomislav Nikolic has announced he will sit on the street until the government calls early elections. Nikolic said he is certain that there will be no incidents during the SNS rally on Saturday, since it is not the streets where the SNS wants to topple the government. SNS leader plans protest "sit-in" In an interview for the Belgrade-based tabloid Press which was published on Thursday, Nikolic underlined that the SNS is staging a rally because it wants to demonstrate its strength and to de and from the government to call early elections within two months. Since no reaction of the authority is expected, he said that he “has already prepared a piece of styrofoam he will sit on in the center of Belgrade and wait for the demands to be met.” Nikolic also said that he will step down as SNS leader if at the next parliamentary elections his party does not win more votes than the ruling Democratic Party (DS).
